Happy New Year!
From Argentina With Love
It started with an email request from Laura Lazos like this:
I'm Laura from Argentina and I'd like to know if it is possible to have your permission to translate 25,000 to 30,000 words of the book After Midnight for the thesis of my career...
Exciting stuff! Needless to say, I'm thrilled to take part in Laura's project...
Here's part: (shared with permission)
I hope you enjoy the preview of Chapter One...great news...final draft of Midnight Crossing is complete! ~Di
I found this version of True Lover's Farewell by the English Folk band Belwether, while doing a little research for Midnight Crossing...thought I'd share since the song has a special significance
I must be a word nerd...but researching for Midnight Crossing this morning, I learned that the word "hanger," yes...hanger, like those in our closets...also is a more or less archaic term for a sword, blade, or rapier, and can also refer to a hangman. Literally, it meant someone who hangs something, and is a middle English word from the 15th century.
As 2014 winds down, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank our fans for their support. Traditionally the end of the year brings reflections on old accomplishments and resolutions about changes for the new year...To all After Midnight devotees, Midnight Crossing, book 2 in the Series, is in the works and we're looking for a 2015 publishing date! Stay tuned as the story continues...Quenton returns to England with plans to take Alix home to France....
Christmas is Nicholas's favorite time of year, full of happy memories. He loves sleigh rides and caroling, not to mention the occasional "cup of cheer".
As the end of the year approaches, it brings a reminder of what holds true importance. My wish is for everyone to enjoy a renewed commitment and dedication to ourselves, our families, and our dreams for the future.
I had a request for more music Alix liked. In particular, Bach's Bouree in E Minor was a favorite she loved to hear Quenton play on his guitar. I also had the great privilege to see Mr. Yashar play live at an engagement in Southern California. He is brilliant!
Minuet in G is one of Alix's favorite songs to play on the piano. Here it is performed in a clip on Vimeo.
Rescuer of animals,
